JAB Self-Defence ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We act as the data controller for the personal information you provide when interacting with our club in Essex.

When you register for a free trial via our website, we collect the following personal data:

  • Parent/Guardian Name
  • Child's Name and Age
  • Email Address
  • Mobile Phone Number
  • Any optional medical or contextual information you choose to provide in the message box.

3. How We Use Your Data & Our Lawful Basis

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), we must have a valid lawful basis to process your data:

  • To arrange your trial: We process your contact details to communicate with you about your start date, times, and attendance. (Lawful Basis: Legitimate Interest / Contractual necessity).
  • Health and Safety: We process any optional medical or behavioural information provided to ensure your child's safety during our physical classes. (Lawful Basis: Explicit Consent / Vital Interests).

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your data. To ensure your trial request reaches us securely, our contact form is powered by Netlify, a third-party data processor. Netlify complies with standard data protection clauses to secure this transfer.

5. Data Retention

We will only keep your personal data for as long as necessary. If you complete a trial but decide not to join the club, your form submission data will be securely deleted within 30 days.

6. Your Data Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of any incomplete or inaccurate data.
  • Request erasure of your personal data.
